Krakow in the south, is Poland's old capital city and has a rich history. The Krakow property market has been very busy and getting a lot of interest from overseas buyers, who are looking mainly at flats. Many of the discount airlines like Ryanair now fly there direct. Even as a tourist its a great place to visit.
The old town area (pic. below) in central Krakow is very sought after and full of old town houses called 'kamienice' which have been converted into apartments. Krakow property prices are known to vary from street to street, even within a small district, so finding out what are the best areas is important.
Krakow has a large student population, whilst some may think it's good for rental purposes, bear in mind the fact that they probably can't afford the types of rent's you'd have to charge. I personally think the Krakow property market is only for those who can afford to buy without having to service a mortgage, as prices I feel are already high.
